Changes to the Time Card Finalization Process

In early to mid February of 2018, the timekeeping system will begin automating the time card finalization process. You can still do this manually, but by automating this process, we can provide better system performance and data integrity for you.

How Auto Finalization Works

The timekeeping system will now force any pay period older than two prior pay periods to be finalized.
 This means the
  • current pay period
  • prior pay period
  • and the pay period before that
will remain unfinalized unless you choose to finalize them sooner.

You will still have the option to UNfinalize when necessary.

How to Unfinalize

Even with auto finalization, you can still unfinalize a pay period if changes are necessary. The system will let you un-finalize up to 1 year of pay periods so you can make time card edits or accrual changes.

Once you are finished with your changes, you can manually finalize the pay periods again or, if left unfinalized, then after 24 to 72 hours, the system will do it for you.

Timeline

This change has now been made for all TimeWorksPlus accounts.
